A carpet is evidently also a painting taken down from the wall, that pedestal on which our culture has put it for the benefit of the art market. What all great carpet cultures teach us, is that art is above all an art of living day in and day out with useful objects that have stories to tell us. The entire house then becomes a painting, or better yet, an infinity of paintings, depending on the angle where one stands. All the more so as the carpet, a nomad by definition, can be moved to suit the mood and the seasons. Because whereas it insulates sound, it also insulates the cold of the evening or of winter.

To introduce a carpet in an interior is really to introduce wealth in the best meaning of the term.
