I value work so much, it gives me so much pleasure, and I’m so keenly aware of the inexorable nature of the passage of time
that I could feel anxious about enjoying sleeping and dreaming so much.
Fortunately, I’ve come to understand that it’s absolutely not a matter of inactivity,
and that accepting the quality of my nights is absolutely crucial for the quality of my days.
Since then, I’ve placed more importance on the grain of my sheets, the feathers of my duvet, the sight of my bed,
whether it’s tidy or lovingly unmade… and this refined context helps me dive into the world
of deep sleep, during which I so vividly imagined “wasting my time,” and into the world of dreams,
from which I like to draw inspiration from those strange fragments that want to rise to the surface of my consciousness.
I now know that “sleeping on a problem” to better solve it is not an empty phrase.
I know that the idea that doesn’t come today will come to those who wait until tomorrow…
as if it were sleep that was working during our absence.
